Ok this is what i have 2001. 5 6spd quad cab 4x4 boost, exhaust gauges, western diesel air filter. I have a 24 foot gooseneck weighing in around 10000lbs. I want some more pulling power but also better performance when shes unloaded. I dont want to go with injectors want some opinions on what i can expect with the EZ and a custom 4 inch exhaust with a Dynomax Bullet muffler. What all is the EZ going to come with? Is it possible to find a used one? And what kind of power will I get. This is my first Cummings, previous powerstoke owner, and have a few fords Id like to blow away but dont want to do too sink to much money into the engine yet. Will i get more boost with the EZ and how much??

With a otherwise stock EZ, I went from 20. 5 psi boost to 28 psi's at WOT. Brought a big smile to my face, kinda like this #ad
The power difference between the stock ETH and one with the EZ is real noticeable, don't think you would be disappointed. The EZ comes with all the necessary wiring and a boost elbow that use to replace the OEM elbow. Lots of luck finding a used one, I think most owners of the EZ would not part from same.

Thanks for your reply. Did you notice any mpg gains by adding the EZ?? How about just a strait pipe, I am 26 so noise isnt too much of a problem but does the motor sound tough without a muffler or sould I continue with my idea with a Dynomax Bullet. Also can I stick with 3 inch and the dynomax and still use the EZ without getting too hot???

mike i have a JRE 4 " system with a dynomax race magnum 6" welded muffler , its 4" inlet/outlet ( this is not the bullet muffler its the other straight thru that dynomax sells ) man is it loud , but not to loud , if i had to do it again i'd get something else , it does get peoples attention , namely the police #ad

... first thing to do is loose the stock muffler and resonator and install a straight pipe , that will give you an idea of what the dynomax will sound like , but louder with a larger pipe size .

as far as finding a used ez for a 2001 , good luck , i know of a used one for sale , but its for a 99 , not that same for map sensor voltage and connectors as yours , call diesel dynamics for upgrading that ETH , i feel their version of the EZ edge is the best option with a timing only function .

Mike, like Mr. Muscle said, look at the box from Diesel Dyamics. I have one on my ETH and it really woke up the truck. Takes about ten minutes to install the box and elbow. During the first full tank of fuel, I drove it like I stole it and mpg stayed pretty much the same. Since then, I calmed back down and have been driving more sanely. #ad
Last couple of tanks, mpg looks to be 1 to 2 more. Boost now hits around 28 to 30 lbs. With the TDR discount (20% off), why even look for a used one. Check them out.

Mike, sorry I missed your reply. My mileage stayed the same with the EZ, no real gain or loss, others have gained some. As to the egt's with an otherwise stock ETH, mine climbed faster but were overall lower than what I saw stock. I did my testing on two steep grades, 17% and 25%, and while unloaded. My exhaust now is the BD 4" turbo to tail, I would not want it any louder and I think the straight pipe might be too much of a good thing, IMHO. But then again, I'm 38 not 26 #ad
If I was still 26, I probably would have cut the down pipe off at the frame and painted flames on the sides #ad

I have a straight Pipe on my 98. 5 Dodge Cummins. All I did for the straight pipe was, cut the muffler and resonator off and replaced it with 6ft of 3" Aluminized (paid $64 total).
My Friends always are joking, saying, "The Transfer Trucks park over there>>".
My Straight pipe sounds good to me. BUT! There is a rather loud in-cab resonance at legal highway speeds (70-75). I have the 3. 55 rear-end and 5-speed transmission. Very Loud, the exhaust has about to "ZONES" where the exhaust "RIPS", around 1,900, and then at about 3,100. Also The truck sounds really trick between shifts,, or slowing down,, The turbo whistle is loud through the exhaust.

I am in Laredo Tx. , but my truck is in the shop for some warantee work(LIFT pump I think).

By The Way (BTW), I have my Turbo Silencer Ring still installed. (but not for long #ad
