I installed the Edge EZ on my 2003 3500 with 56,000 miles and the motor has a very loud knocking sound with it pluged in ,(like to much timing advance ) I called EZ and they said a little more noise is normal and told me to check for trouble codes to see if something else is wrong , Two codes came up P0236 and code P2509 . I found the first to be the boost sensor but can not find the other code ,Could the EZ cause the codes ? I would like to find the other code before I take it back to the dealer . Thanks for the help !!!!

Just found the other ECM/PCM power input signal intremittent,

What does this mean?

I'm not sure what those codes are from??? I have had the ez on my truck for over 30,000 miles with no codes. . The engine is a little louder and may idle a little rougher too from the edge ez. . Good luck finding what made those codes... . JMO. .

P2509 ECM/PCM Power Input Signal Intermittent, not sure why that is coming up as the EZ does not plug into it. I too have ran EZ's on two trucks without ever throwing a code. I would check all the connections and see what the leads to.

My EZ has been on my truck for over 30,000 miles with no trouble. I did just read not too long ago that one of the plugs can be put in 180 out. With that in mind, I do remember looking at the one plug several times to be sure.

If I remember correctly, one of the plug has 4 square locators to slide into the adjacent slot (2 on each side). The only difference was a slight difference in the center to center distance of the dogs and locating slots. May want to check that.

Check all your connections where the Ez plugs into... Make sure they are snug and clipped in tight. I think that might be the reason for the boost sensor.

Put some fresh Dielectric grease on those fittings and checked them out. If it turns out that your Edge is bad remove your boost elbow if installed while you are waiting for your new box, the elbow will trip the overboost code with no box attached.

BTW your trouble codes sound just like my budies Edge was doing before he needed a new one, if you have an early one it's probably givin' it up... . the new ones only have 4 levels now.

Thanks for tips ! My box is the new model from what the manafacture said, and I also noticed in the instructions that the first pins are never used when switching to different settings ,only the last two sets of pins are jumped,I find that to be rather odd and I wonder if the instruction sheet is correct?
