The problem I experienced when I plugged in my Edge EZ is so similar to yours, I wanted to let you know what I've found out. When I plugged in the EZ and did a test drive the truck started to "buck and hesitate" at higher RPM range. I didn't get as high as you did though. Mine would go from 2800 - 3100 RPMs. I thought it was a fuel or air problem. I was surprised by the whole thing so I really didn't drive much except to get back home and immediately unplugged the EZ.
I installed a cold air kit a couple of days later and on the way home I wanted to try it out. I still had the EZ unplugged. The truck would hesitate and buck between each shift point. I also immediately threw an overboost code and check engine light came on. I HAD installed the boost elbow and with the EZ unplugged the ECM knew it.
I called the tech support guy at Edge and he basically said the truck needs to re-learn or re-program for the new power and driver input (as in I was mashing the go pedal). He said all would be well after putting some miles on the truck. I figured this was hog wash! He did tell me they would replace the unit if my problems persisted and I could eliminate the box as a possible cause of the problem.
After I talked to Edge, I realized I had probably never floored the go pedal at all before. I called a buddy of mine who is a die hard gear head and also a computer guru. He loves to play with ECM programs so things go really fast. He confirmed what Edge told me about the ECM "learning" to recognize a "typical" driving pattern for a vehicle. I'm not explaining as well as he can but the short version is it wasn't hog wash.
I plugged the EZ back in and went out and did a bunch of 0-70 MPH runs and could tell the hesitation and bucking seemed to be the transmission "hunting" for lockup at shift points. transmission just seemed to slip. My transmission has always shifted a litttle quirky since I put the 315s on. I haven't had the speedo calibrated for the change. I'm not very knowledgeable about trannys but I think this is all happening through the electronic controller on the transmission.
After a week of driving, seems like truck has "learned" very well! This electronic stuff amazes me!! The truck is running great and the transmission seems to be shifting like the transmission I knew pre EZ. I still think I want to get the recalibration done because I think it will help the shift points some. A transmission controller might be the ticket. I want to keep things stock there as long as I can also.
I did try to clear my over-boost code. I disconnected batteries completely, turned ignition to on and let set for about an hour. When I reconnected the batteries, the code and Check Engine Light were still there. There seems to be some uninterruptable power supply battery somewhere to maintain ECM memory! I had local parts store hook up a scanner to clear the code. Their scanner failed also but I'm hoping it is just a problem with that scanner. I'll try another one I know of.
Hopefully by now, your truck has reprogrammed also and you are a happy camper.

In regards to the OBDII programing, you can do a search in the forums and find some threads on what people are using if you haven't done that yet. I've got an older laptop that I dont use anymore and I think I'm going to do the same thing. I also looked at the Autoxray scanners and they look pretty good also. They come with all the connections to handle all of my vehicles. The newer ones will also deal with CANS or whatever the new on board diagnostics are for the next generation. The laptop software and cable are a cheaper way to go I think.
The kid thing - isn't it sweet.![]()
My truck runs so goooood now! I've even "raced" it twice this week. I'm tempted to run the EZ on Level 4 now! I have to keep telling myself NO, NO, NO, everytime I take off from the light. The bigger problem is I've opened Pandora's Box!! I see my wallet opening up and money flying out for more parts.

What you are describing happened to me once, the day afterI installed the Edge EZ.
After that it was fine. How about don't run the truck at WOT. You don't need to be hammering on the throttle (especially!) with a 47RE or revving above 3000 RPM anyway, so it doesn't matter much of the power drops off there.
