:D Just got my EZ Comp I am not going to hook

up the pump wire yet my question would it be

better to leave everthing under hood for easy

exit are can I pretty well hide from dealer?

Thanks in advance. OL Ratlr. :D

Well if you have the Edge Comp and are trying to hide it from the dealer, I would take it off before taking it in for work (if you want to keep your warranty).

So keeping it in the cab is probably not a problem if you remove it before taking it to the dealer.

I think the EZ is best suited for that under hood heat.

The whole point of a comp is the in cab adjustments. Don't leave it under the hood! I run my comp without the pump wire but all the sub-levels in level 1 still work. Wire harness takes 2 minutes to run into the cab anyway.

IMHO

There are SEVERAL good reasons to buy the Comp NOT hook up the pump wire...

The Comp isn't all that much more expensive than the EZ, and makes a good choice for guys only wanting to lay out the cash ONCE.

The Comp will deliver the same benefits as the EZ WITHOUT connecting the pump wire, yet still provide future additional benefits when the owner is ready to take advantage of them.

Running without the pump wire gives the owner a chance to evaluate both the Comp AND the rest of his vehicles operating parameters BEFORE irreversibly damaging future warranty coverage.

Running without the pump wire connected gives immediate power gains without severe additional stress on the injector pump that might occur if the LP is questionable - then, when/if LP mods are made, the wire can then be connected.

There are undoubtedly more - but you get the picture - I'll be installing my own Comp later today, and will run it a few days WITHOUT hooking up the pump wire for some of the above reasons - particularly the desire to check out various operating parameters at that level before "going for broke" - one step at a time!;) :p :D

WHy don't you just buy the VP44 cover and not damage the wiring. If you have to take the truck to the dealer, just swap plates back??!!:D :D

Just for future use, you have an Edge COMP. The Edge EZ is a different box all together. Just might help down the road in a future discussion.

Personally if it were me I would bring the box in cab just to keep it from the under hood environment. Its electronic, keep it out of the heat..... and it will look alot nicer when you install it in the cab vs sitting under the hood. With just the data plug hooked up your levels are useless. However I am unsure if the sub levels will work for adjusting smoke control.

Anyone with just the data plug hooked up got an answer for that? Do the sub levels on the COMP work like the jumpers of the EZ???? Anyone?

My wire has had a pierce since about 3000 miles on the truck.

When you start modifying things, regardless what ANYONE says... be prepared to be your own warranty station weather the wire is pierced or not. Some people just don't understand that... ... .

YUP - Absolutely!;) :D :D

EZ Comp/

:D Thank all you guys for information.

I probably want be a week before I

hook up pump wire due to lack of self

control. lol Oo. OL Ratlr

when I hooked up my comp I also bought the pump cover so I could eliminate the wire piercing deal, took it all apart and the torqus bit that edge gave me was the wrong size so I used one of my other bits and I stripped a head on one of the pump cover bolts  so I just pierced the dern wire anyhow... ... ... .....
