My injectors got here yesterday at about 11o'clock. I was here at the store alone so I was having to answer the phone and help customers and still got them installed by 2 o'clock:) . I want to thank everyone for the input on this site. I would never have attempted it myself if it wasn't for the info I got from TDR.

All I can say about the DD2's is YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAW:D Oo. :D Oo.

Man they give it a kick in the (insert favorite exp. here) .

Anyone have same ,or close to, set up as mine and been on the dyno? I'm wondering what the HP and TQ numbers are with this set up.

Kevin

PS. Did I mention that I'm happy with the EZ + DD2's? :D :D :D ;)

let me know how fast your clutch eats s&^!. I can't afford to put in injectors right now due to a vandalism to my truck but I was worried about my clutch anyways.

They sure sound sweet though.

Glad you're happy with your newfound power. Your truck should be making about 335hp/700ft-lbs. See the graph of our last customer with those mods below:

What gives

KLockliear-I seem to have come up a little short of what you are posting as far as hp#'s. Could I be missing something? I did three runs, the last and best was in OD locked. The shop had never done a diesel before and was not set up for it so reference was on the wheels only, no rpm pickup. I could only muster 299hp:{ Any ideas. Thanks.

Re: What gives

I'm with you LoneRam.

With the EZ and the DD2's, my truck only dyno'd in at 296 and 776 ft lbs.

Those numbers sound about right to me LoneRam. 50hp for the EZ and 80 for the 2's. My stock truck dynoed 175hp before the EZ and 230 with them. But that was before the DTT upgrades. I don't know how much extra hp that gives, I have heard 20 or so, that would add up to about 330hp.

Installed my 2's today !! When I got home from work until she was running againwith a new fuel filter onoly took 1hr 15 min.

Let the smoke roll :--)

Now I'm all :D :D :D andOo. Oo. Oo.

AZcummins

mark --? what's up? what happend to your truck? do i need to come down there with some of my family from Chicago and take care of some business? fill me in bro,

Jason

Mistaken.

On my post above I stated that the DTT upgrades could possible give you more HP, I was wrong, it will not effect the HP in the lockup possition, only in the unlocked. Sorry for the err.

chuck.

kslayton

Did you run the EZ for any length of time before you installed the DD2's?

The reason I ask is because I too have an EZ and BHAF. I'd like to move up to DD2's, but didn't know if it would be worth the $'s in performance.

TNT,

I ran the EZ for about two months with the BHAF. I was happy with that set up but I just couldn't resist the pull of the darkside;) . I would say that judging by my SOP gauge that the DD2's added as much (if not more) increase over the EZ as the EZ did over stock. ( If that makes any sense:rolleyes: )

I have not towed with this set up but I think it will get the job done:) .

I also struggled with the price vs. performance gain too, but at this point I have not regretted buying them. :D

I noticed you don't have 4" exhaust, 3" pipe can only support 250 hp without restriction, so your not seeing full benfit of your box and injectors.

Better watch those EGT's!!!

I made 298 rwhp in Calgary just before Xmas with 275's, EZ, BHAF and 4" Dynomax resonator-back exhaust system... . my truck's an ETH so that'll skew the power some compared to you guys's ETC/autos I guess...

4 exhaust ?

Ted,

So far I haven't seen any EGT's over 1050 at WOT. Besides cooler EGT's(which don't seem to be a problem, yet) what increase in performance would I see by going to a 4" exh. ?

Faster turbo spoolup ?

Higher boost pressure? ( I'm getting max 36psi now)

More horsepower?

More torque?

Better throttle response?

I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, but I want an idea of what I will gain by investing my $$$ in a bigger exhaust.

Thanks,

Kevin

Smoking the clutch!

azcummins,

So far the clutch is holding fine, but I haven't gotten brave enough to horse stomp it in low RPM's yet. I've already talked to a few fellow members about putting in a South Bend for me when the time comes, which I don't think will be a very long time because I can already feel the evil forces of the darkside begging me to use ALL of this new power just so I'll have a reason to call Peter. :D :--)

Kevin

that is one thing that scared me about putting in DDIIs. I figured one day when I was mad, I'd say hell with it and romp on it. Poof!! There goes the clutch! Let me know how it holds up. I'd love to take a spin in your truck @ March 10th so I can see what I'm missing.

My bad... that is the RMTDR meeting. I moved out of Nashville, TN 4 yrs ago and sometimes I forget. Wanna take a trip to Colorado? :D
