Fed up with buying and changing solenoids I solved my situation thusly.

A trip to my favorite Pick-n-pull and get another hood latch cable assy.

Move the original pull brkt to the right and mount the new on the left.

Run the cable housing though the same grommet as the original.

Take a 3/8"x1" bolt and drill a 3/32" hole down the center from head to end.

Then from the end opposite the head, drill a 7/32" hole leaving aprox 1/8" undrilled. (See picks for clarity) These parts take care of the pull handle and cable housing mount. For the piece that pulls the shutoff lever I used a 1/4" bolt with 1" of unthreaded shank. Cut the head off leaving 3/8" of shank. Drill a 3/32" hole through the side of the shank. Now place a jamb nut on the bolt and tighten againsed the shank. Using a nylock nut on the back side of the shutoff lever install to same. Now thread all this good stuff through all those holes and install cable set and Viola!

I decided to put the pull handle in sideways so that it is easier for people that borrow the truck will pull the right one. Have fun:).

Looks more durable than my 77 Dodge Colt Hood release cable. :)

My hood release cable had the end swaged on so I just slotted the fuel shutoff lever just enough for the cable and slipped the cable through. I then bolted the old Colt bracket that held the end of the jacket to the pump where you did. I thought mine looked slick till I saw yours. :) nice work.

Did you pull the plunger, did it die on you, or is this secondary?

Good Idea

On the same idea for those whom want the proper labeled fuel shut off know

go to your local Johndeere dealer and you can order fuel shut off cabels that are red with a gas fuel pump with a x on it
