Auto Meter Fuel Sender RECALL

transmission cooler

and will it work on a 1999 dodge cummins?

1. generic codes for 1999 cummins engine?

2. enhanced codes for 1999 cummins engine?

3. run live time for 1999 cummins engine?

4. monitor sensors for 1999 cummins engine?

Any other information I should know about the EZ link scan tool from www.autoxray.com ?

I have contacted a company rep and just want to verify some of the information I got from them.

Thanks,

Ron

Ron,

I briefly posted in you other thread about the cost of the enhanced upgrade. I don't have much experience with 24V's, but here is what I know.

I've only hooked up to a 24V once, and that was to read/clear a code. I don't know what year the truck was, but I assume all 24's are the same.

1. Yes, it will read generic OBDII

2. No, but they are working on it. The last time I talked to AutoXray (about a month ago), they told me that Chrysler Enhanced should be out soon, within a couple of months.

3. I don't know, but I can't see why not. I can get very limited live monitoring info from the PCM on my '96 12V: engine RPM, vehicle speed, % load, intake air temp are what I can recall. I briefly checked this feature on the 24V I plugged in to and I recall that there was more info than what I get on mine. I would guess it will show any generic OBDII parameter that is read by the PCM.

4. I don't think it would monitor the Cummins ECM unless that info was made available through the PCM. Again, just a guess.

Maybe there is a member on the Seattle eastside that will volunteer to let me use their 24V to get you more specific info.

Thanks for the information Bob.

I went ahead and ordered the EZ-link from autoxray last week, it should be here the middle of this coming week. The place I ordered it from has a 30 day money back return so I figured I would try it and if it did not work the way I wanted it to I would just return it.

If anyone is interested it was www.autocheckup.com

Thanks,

Ron

Ron I have been following your threads

and am trying out a Snap-on scanner this week. So far I couldn't get it to work generic OBD II but it works with the right key for my truck and all I can see and do is read and clear codes see all temps sensors and there voltages amb, iat, coolant, fuel temp,%load, rpm,app %. I haven't got it figured out how to get into the ABS and other things and there is a code in the engine ecm that I can't get to I don't know what it is, 99 manual says it is a companion code? what that is I don't know. I am still looking for a scanner that will hook up to the Cummins plugs to deal direct with the engine.

csevers,

Thanks for the info, keep us updated from time to time on what you find out.

Not sure about the cummins engine port but have you checked the quick check II from cummins. The reason I didn't persue that avenue was the cost. I'am cheap and sometimes that is not a good thing.

I am not very familiar with the automotive style scanners I usually use a laptop at work with all the different programs already there for Cummins, cat, detroit, and it also had obd1 and 2 and eec4 but most of the time I am lucky NOT to have to work on fords or chevys so I am learning a lot about this scanner and won't have it mastered before I decide to buy it or not this Thursday. I still have to figure out how to get into the abs and other stuff if it can.

I may have mine for sale as it wont work with the 03s (even tho when I bought it they said it would - but DC had its own mind and will not make it avail thru the pcm). Would include the Palm/cables/software/etc. Worked great for me and also found out the eng had 800+ more hrs than I had on my meter. Presume it was a "test checked" eng before Cummins released it to DC.

If DC would let us look at the 03s, it would help. E-mail me for more info if IF you may be interested.

PS: also have the autoxray and just got a chance to hook up to the 03 and it did read some but need to do a more thourgh test. Also, bought it @ Checkers for a great price and then had the enhanced software opened (pd the fee for it). Bought the unit to "fix" the Enterprize (Trans Sport 94) problem(s). Turned out to be the oxy sensor was "loaded up" and after cleaning all problems went away. Great low cost tool if you asked me. A friend has the Snap-on (older model) and his didnt catch the oxy problem.
