EZ module with aftermarket OD

Does any one have an ETH 6-speed with an aftermarket overdrive? Did the fuel mileage increase? My truck has lots of power around 1600 RPM and an overdrive unit would put my truck at 1600 RPM at 70 MPH. I would think that this would increase fuel mileage.
