I took my EZ & boost elbow out tonight. I sold it using the classifieds on this site. It's kinda sad to see it go. The truck feels a little sluggish with out it but I had recycle the $$'s toward my new MAD CaTCHER. That should get to me in 2 weeks or so. I can hardly wait.

sold down the river

I took my EZ & boost elbow out tonight. I sold it

darkhorse,

That's nothin', I sold my first born for beer money.

Seriously though, It seems like with thoses EDM 1. 5 injectors that you would want the extra boost and boost-fooling to help with EGTs and not throw a code? If I understand, the CaTCHER covers the boost-fooling, but you still need a mechanical bit for the wastegate. You might want to baby the throttle until your new ECM is in.

BTW, is your clutch stock? And if so, how does it hold up to the EZ and those injectors?

Boondocker, about my clutch with the EZ+1. 5's; I tried WOT twice with that set up. Both times at about 1500rpm, the clutch said :--) I KWIT!. I'm not a racer & I don't "need" that kind of power. My right foot learned temperance quickly. I still got a good snap to throttle response with less pedal movement using the EZ. I miss that but with the 1. 5's, I can get the same crisp acceleration delivered more smoothly by just pressing a little further with my right foot.

With the boost elbow removed, my waste gate limits boost to 20 psi & no code is set. When the MAD CaTCHER arrives, I may want to put a boost elbow back in.

Are you sure that you should have sold the EZ yet. After all, you don't really know what the Catcher is going to be like other then others opinions. Besides you should have tried to stack them.

Both Marco & Doug have said that the EZ can be stacked with the MAD ECM but that there is little to be gained that way. I would guess it has to due with duplication of function. The EZ was a great stand alone modification but it smokes to easily even on jumper #1 when used with my mach 1. 5's . I think Diesel Dynamics version would work better with the larger injectors. Rip sold me the EZ used for a great price & I'm glad I used it but it wasn't ideal for my application. Now without the boost elbow my wastegate limits me to 20 psi but that seems ample to burn all the fuel my 1. 5 EDM's deliver. EGT's rise to about 1,000* pretty fast but I've never seen them higher than 1,050*. As I have stated before, if the only thing the MAD ECM does for me is delivers EZ like power with less smoke, I'll be pleased. If it delivers the torque sooner,... well then I'll be more pleased.
