Hello all,

I presently have an 01. 5 2500 auto. I am trading for an 01 3500 HO 6 speed. Will my EZ interchange. The data link and MAP plugs appear to be the same. Also is the turbo larger on the HO? It looks physically larger. Thanks for any advice.

i'm no guru but....

yes, i believe the box WILL go on the HO motor. yes the turbo on the HO 6spd IS larger because in '01 DC put HY-35's on the auto's and the sticks have HX-35's. housing is 3cm larger.

I am fairly sure the EZ will work. If the plugs are the same it will work. The ones that have different plugs have diff programing. You new HO should have an HX35-12 and your old truck had an HY35-9. It is a little bit larger turbo.

Thanks for the replies

I always wanted to add dd2's or 275's to my auto truck but never did for fear of leaving a trail of transmission parts down the highway. Is it true I will be able to also add injectors with the six-speed.

I like everything about the six-speed. Think it shifts a litle hard though. Wife has trouble finding the right gear. I am afraid of getting into reverse instead of 5th.

Some members have reported slipping clutches with only the EZ, some with the EZ and 275 injectors, guess it really depends on how you drive and what you pull. My OEM clutch never slipped with the EZ, but I wasn't towing, just drag racing in my own way. IMHO, you will probably be okay with just the EZ box, unless you are pulling real heavy loads. I changed to the McLeod when I upgraded injectors, because I knew from others experiences that the stock ETH clutch wouldn't hold up to the BOMBing path I was following. The EZ alone is a great power upgrade for the ETH, actually lowers the egt's while giving you a real kick in the pants. I'd try that alone first and add larger injectors only when your wallet will allow for a new clutch. Be sure to install the boost elbow when you put in the EZ box.

Ditto on this statment: (My OEM clutch never slipped with the EZ, but I wasn't towing, just drag racing in my own way. )

If your not reveing up and slipping the clutch, you should be ok. I tend to roll into the throttle vice slamming it down. :D Driving style contributes to longetivity. Do your research on what BOMB's you are planning and invest wisely. I have 63,900 miles now and still have my original lift pump and clutch. Both are still strong. I should be ok till somewhere over 100,000. Quality care is the secret to success. Enjoy what every do.
