today with the snow and winds, the underhood area of the powerwagon was packed in snow, with the wind blowing it in through every little hole. the top of the batteries, bhaf, and fuse box, which of course the ez sits on. i couldnt see the ez from the snow. i wiped it away and wiped the snow of the bhaf.

i remember someone telling me a long time ago that some va boxes had problems from moisture from snow and slush. is this true. does the ez have this trouble from moisture.

tia

EZ.

I have never heard of anyone yet haveing problems with moisture, but never know, maybe someone else might.

It's epoxied in.......

The circuit board anyway. I pulled the cover off of mine when I rigged it for a switch. The only thing you can see is the jumpers sticking out. I doubt weather would effect it at all. I have a hole in my cover now where the wires go in. I put a grommet in and was going to silicone it but after seeing the inside I figured it didn't need it.

for my 2¢ worth, I'd say don't worry about it,

Garrett

Garrett is correct. The Edge EZ and the DD TTPM are filled with epoxy... only the jumper posts are exposed. This eliminates the possibility of problems experienced by Van Aaken in their first generation CPCs (which I experienced almost immediately with mine after installation... the NACA ducts in my Air Bulldog induction hood are very close to the PDC where the module mounts thus, allowing possible water intrusion). The only problem with most epoxy sealed units is they can't be altered internally by the manufacturer... they become throwaway units. I have had my DD TTPM mounted atop my PDC cover for at least six months now without a single problem due to exposure to heat or water.

good deal

thanks for the response guys. its good to know that worrying about moisture harming the ez box is pointless. i sure didnt want the troubles the va boxes had with moisture. thanks again.
