EZ Smoke on Level 4 ????

I'm playing around with my EZ. For a long time now I've been on Level 3 and it has worked well for towing. It certainly made night and day difference just bumming around too.



I put it on Level 4 for the first time today and expected to see some smoke until the turbo spooled up. I didn't see any smoke.



I know the 305/555 turbo is small and spools quickly. It that why I did not see any noticable smoke? I'm not a smoke junkie but really expected Level 4 to pump some out.



(Yes my EZ has the "secret" level 5, but I'm not going there! <yet>)

I didn't see much smoke with just the EZ on. I saw more smoke on lvl 5. The only way I could get smoke is if I didn't step on it for a while and then stomp on it from a stop.

Oh, I forgot to add that I did notice EGTs jump up more quickly. More fuel was going somewhere!

You probably won't see much smoke with the EZ on any level on your truck. I didn't on mine. I later added a TST PMCR and run it stacked with the EZ. It gives me more power overall and the EGTs for a given amount of power increase is lower.



I routinely run my EZ on 3 and my TST on 5 hp and 6 tq. I dyno'ed on 5/5 (barely less power than this) with the stock turbo at 395 horse and 751 torque. My EGTs are also descent with this combination. I can go from zero to 100mph with it on the floor and I never see over 1250 degrees when I'm not towing or loaded down.



I get some smoke at low RPMs with this combination. If I turn the TST up any higher, I get a LOT of smoke. Have fun!
