I was just wondering what an ez didand how well they did it, do you get better fuel mileage and more power? what do they cost and are they hard to install?

Here you go. You can get the info from the horses mouth. http://www.edgeproductsinc.com/

I just installed an EZ. Takes only a few minutes. To me, it sounds meaner and my 0 to 60 is the better part of 2 seconds quicker. I used to go from the bottom of the Big Horn Mountains to the top in third with the OD locked out and the Torque Converter locked up. Doing this with the EZ the TC slipped something awful.
I put in a DTT valve body and it cured all of the slipping.
I think it is getting better mileage. I will fill it up tomorrow and let you know.

WyoJim: I'm considering the EZ box because of their claim (and many positive posts here) regarding a fuel economy improvement (2-3 mpg according to their web page) and supposed power improvements. Are you saying that with no load your TC was slipping badly and that further modifications (i. e. injectors, DTT) would be required after EZ installation or no-load driveability suffers?
Help! I'm so confused!

P. S. I think the price quoted to someone on another post was 529. 00 for the EZ box, the price is not listed on their web site. I wonder, is this with or without any kind of discount?

Hey Rich,
Let me qualify my statement a little.
The way i drive up the Bighorn Mountain is not normal. I put my truck's TC in the situation to either go or slip by locking the torque converter up in 3rd instead of overdrive.
With a 3500 lb camper on, the TC would not slip doing this. With the EZ and the truck empty it would slip bad. But the climb is steep. 4000ft. to 9000ft. in a few miles.
The TC has 50,000 miles of this on it already, so I don't know what shape it is really in.
But I do know Bill K's valve body cured it.

I did not get the wild excuberant feeling about the EZ that is common on this board, but there is definately more power and I think there is more mileage also. I'll know tommorrow when I fill it up.

Yes I would do it again. They cost $649, I paid the $529. I found them for lower prices than that, but they didn't have any. You can sell them for any price if you don't have em.

The 'EZ' I purchased from HVAC was around the same $ that's floating on the TDR. I actually gave him about $10 more because I was so pleased!(and he didn't have the right change #ad

Anyway, you will not be disappointed with the 'EZ'. For example, before I took my truck to the dealer for an 'oil pressure sensor' replacement, it took me less then one minute to disconnect and remove the 'EZ,' and another couple of minutes the 'boost elbow' that comes with it.
My truck dynos 33+ HP with the 'EZ' alone, and + 95HP with DD2's.
Also, I'm getting at least 2 more mpg's #ad

Ran two tanks of winter fuel through with the EZ on. Getting about 1 MPG more mileage.
Now listen to this! I live in Dodge country and most of the trucks on the road are DC Cummins. Mine went all the way to Billings yesterday singing "here Pherdy Pherdy". Nothing happened until the way home when another Cummins sassed it. We cruised at 80 for about 50 miles until he caught a semi and slowed down to 65 until he could pass. He made smoke on the pass, but when he pulled in my EZ handled him amazingly quick to 110. I slowed down to cruise 80 again and in a minute he caught me and a few minutes after that, still at 80 we passed the Highway Patrol going the other way, who amazingly just waved. The speed limit was 70.
My EZ is a way more than I was giving it credit for!!
