Has anyone had their own muffler delete pipe made for their 3rd gen? It is either Geno's or make my own through a small muffler shop. I can take the measurement, the offset, have them cut to size it, bend it, flare the ends.

I may check into prices. Geno's is very reasonable at $100 plus/minus with shipping but maybe I can get it for half the price?

Before I spent $100 for less than 3 foot of pipe, I would do some cutting and welding and make my own eliminator pipe! I recently bought 10 ft of 4 inch pipe for under $40 here in Mexico! Miter cuts to get the offset are not the ideal, but they don't flow THAT badly if you keep the angles as small as possible... way better than a muffler!!!

I bought 2 45* elbows, 2band clamps, and 3' of pipe for less than $40. Welded it up and installed. About 2 hours worth of work, getting the old one off was a experience!

I had my muffler shop put in a 4" pipe for $60, and they warrenty the entire exhaust system. . Hangars, welds, etc.

I have used Napa for muffler pipe, they are reasonable and have a suprisingly good selection of 4" stuff,

Head down on South IH-35, and hit Exit 2, hit the light and take a right, then your first left, then your first right, it's on the right, called Pronto's, talk to Mando, tell him Merrick sent ya!

So I am assuming the flex can be made to fit over the existing 4" on both ends? I will call a truck muffler shop for it.

A 10" abrasive chop saw, a 4" x 45* and a section of 4" works good. You can cut small slivers out of the 45* and end up with a really smooth looking transition.

Make the kitty run away and use a straight piece of pipe. 4" pipe isn't a lot of money and then clamp or better yet weld. Flex pipe would make your tail pipe hang different after a bumpy road since its flexible. Your tail pipe only has one hanger on it for support. Then get some ear plugs for your neighbors :)

The cats downstream of the muffler, yes? (I am new to 3rd gens and haven't looked at the exhaust side of them yet). If so I will probably leave it on due to the dealer's warranty dos and don'ts but may go 5" after that. Girlfriend gave me the ok to do 5" muffler/cat back instead of muffler delete now and 5" later.
