Factory 05' turbo air guide fins, remove??

"New" 05' 2500 Reg Cab 4WD 14K miles, stock except i replaced the inlet silencer cylinder with my own machined aluminum cylinder and noticed the curved guide fins in the elbow before the turbo. Turbo whine increased appreciably but I am wondering if there is any gain in the bottom end by leaving the fins in place vs thier removal ??

Leave it in place. You will not gain anything by removing it.
