BV, if you mean the lateral, 2" box tube that the hitchbox is welded to then, NO my OE '98. 5 hitch was not bent. I say was, because I upgraded to a Reese Titan V (class 5) hitch after I had heard of DC's proposed fix if no cracks were found in the OE unit. I hauled my OE hitch to the dump last month. Guess they got me coming and going... I had to initially pay for the hitch, and then again to have it buried in a landfill.
