I just picked up a cat off of a 2005 Cummins Ram. It has been cut at the welds right where the taper starts. My question is there a way to determine which way the exhaust flows thru the cat or can it flow in either direction? When looking into the ends of the cat(the honeycomb part) there is a part# imprinted onto the honeycomb on one end but not the other. I'm planning on adapting this cat to my 5" exhaust. Any input is appreciated.

My question is why do you need the cat off of an 05????????????

JHoppis - Thanks for the quick response. It looked the same on both ends, but I wasn't sure if it only flowed in one direction.

Mymtnhauler- I didn't want to risk hacking up my factory cat to fit my 5" exhaust. I figured since I got the one off of the 05 for next to nothing I wouldn't be out much if I wasn't successfull!
