when in for last oil change, dealer informs me that they have to check all the 2004. 5 600's for leaking freeze plugs. they do this test by running the engine at full rpm for 3 minutes to do the check. no leaks on my engine,Ram 2500. we also have a 2004. 5 ram 3500,that they say has to be checked also. anyone heard about this?Jon

Yes, but it is by vin not all trucks. It was a qiuck response letter for some and a recall on others. There was a concern with possible oversize core plug holes. The test is a bit harsh, but it is designed to build max cooling system pressure to verify fit of plugs.

There was a bunch of discussion about this several months ago. As far as I know, no one had any problems discovered or as a result of the test. Let them do the test and all will be fine. Also have them check to see if TSB 18-037-04 applies to your truck.
