Factory Dash Mounted Exhaust Brake Switch Available

There was a long thread a while back where several members came up with a dash mounted switch for 5. 9 trucks. Chrysler now services a dash mounted switch for 2003-2007 5. 9 trucks. That's what I've been waiting for! Do you know where this mounts? Does it require a new dash bezel as well?

Wow. $113 at the local dealer. Ouch!



I'd order it, but the part is non-returnable. They say it covers '03-'07 but have no picture or description. I wonder what it looks like. I don't want to have to pay for it and end up not using it...

How can 1 switch cover so many year models? I understood that the dash design has changed one of more times between 2003 and 2007. Maybe the kit includes parts for all models.

Dan, shouldn't there be a resistance between the led & switch? Or is it built-in?

You're right, the LED I got from Radio Shack has a built in resistor. I just looked for the ones labeled for 12v.



The Molex connectors aren't required. I added them so I could swap back and forth with the '07 6. 7 switch module if I chose to.

My dealer says its the manual transmission mounted shifter??

The Jacobs stalk switch that came on my '06 auto is the same one used on the manual floor shifter and had a shim insert to make it fit.

Yes, Is this a dash mounted switch? And if so how can it work on 03-07 when the switches are different shapes and sizes for the different years? Any pics of this kit? Thanks Rick

The bezels that hold the switches for the '06 and '07 are identical. They just vary in the number of switches each holds. I can't answer for the '03 -'05 but suspect they are the same and just the separate bezels are different and must be purchased separately. I bought a switch and bezel for a

'07 6. 7 and tried it in my '06 5. 9. It fit the panel fine but required a lot of adapting to make it work. The switch I ultimately used is from Radio Shack and is installed in my original bezel.



It appears only someone who bought the new $113 switch for the '03-'07 5. 9is as going to be able to provide you a picture or description of it.
