T6 is 5w40, I'm not sure where your going with that as no gas engines I'm aware of call for 5w40. This is a case of stick with the right viscosity and API rating and there are no problems. It is no secret that many diesel oils (not just Shell) no longer carry both current API diesel and the latest SN gas ratings. Much of that has to do with CAFE mpg requirements and many car manufacturers going to thinner oils. Again, stick with the OEM recommendation and there isn't a problem.

As for the VW Rabbit, they were simply phased out circa 1984 for the more popular VW Golf. They still carried the diesel platform in both the Golf and Jetta until the early 90's. VW pulled out of the market due to EPA constraints and the IDI's being heavy polluters but brought it back in 1996 with the first turbo charged direct injection or more widely known as TDI. There have only been a handful of years since 1977 that VW has not offered a diesel, and none of them involved the Rabbit.

He's trying to divert attention from his false posts. Newsa, diesel oil in general and Rotella specifically was available most anywhere diesel fuel was sold. If you purchased diesel fuel you had access to diesel oil. The argument that it wasn't easily available to the general public has no bearing on your false claims.
