Does the factory AM/FM cassette radio that comes with 2001 trucks, not the option radio with CD, have a "Din" connector on the back of the radio to hook up the factory CD changer? My parts guy can't tell me.

Code RBN has CD changer controls. Only two systems I found are compatable with the stock stereo, and I do not know what sort of connectors they have. RBN also has a five band equalizer.

Boy was I ****** when my unit came in with the RBX. I thought I was getting the RBN that was compatible with the CD Changer. Dodge wasn't appologetic, just offered several fm modulated units for big $$.

Parts guy had mercy on me and gently suggested to go 'after market' and get better quality for less bucks. I looked around and saw that it was true.

There's no way you'll get anything to work with your face plate controls on your stock radio. FM modulatation (tying in your fm antenna line) is your only option. Otherwise buy a new after market radio AND a CD changer.

Good luck and let us know what you get!

I bought my wife an FM modulated CD changer, and it sounds great. She even has a Bose system in her car. Even though the dynamic range of the FM signal is not as large as the straight signal from the CD, I don't think the human ear can really tell. At least I can't. So, IMO, I would go with the FM changer.

My last two Rams came with the same bone stock am/fm cassette radio that comes in the SLT package, and no,there are no DIN plugs in the back of the unit. I installed a Clarion 6-disc changer with the FM modulator and it sounds great. The Clarion controller for the modulator has adjustable sound level options, and you can get a perfect sound with it.
