2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Factory Steering Box

I once heard you could tighten the factory steering box and get rid of some of the slop... . any one ever done this?

Here's the TSB from Fritz's Dodgeram.org . http://dodgeram. info/tsb/1997/19-10-97.htm. You might want to invest in one of these: http://www.solidsteel. ca/DSS.htm . Nice poduct. It keeps the pitman shaft from racking which eventually loosens up the steering box and causes pitman seal leaks.

Yes You Can Adjust I Did Mine But Its A Temporary Fix If It Works At All. I Just Did My Brothers Also Took A Little Slop Out But You Still Have To Start Turning About A Half Mile Early To Go Around A Curve. Ill Give You The Same Advice I Gave Him. Put A New Aftermarket Gearbox On It And Be Done And Above All Else Be Safe. I Put One On From Psc They Are Available From Others Too Power Steering Service, Etc. Its Without A Doubt The Best Money I Ever Spent To Fix My Steering And I Spent A Bunch. Do It Right Be Done With It.

Do you have to take the steering box off of the truck to adjust it? or is it fine on the truck? thanks, Greg
