finally got factory tach out of 93,but the problem is getting it to work in a 91 is this possible and whats involved,a custom wiring harness?,crank sensor? any help appreciated

thanks,wade

Hey wraney , is your truck a 91 with the 727 three speed transmission or a 91 & 1/2 with the overdrive transmission .

if your 91 is a non intercooled truck you will need to change out your harmonic balencer to the newer notched out one (check to see if yours is notched) should be 2 notches 180 degrees apart, this is what makes the mopar magnetic sensor work.

You will then need a wiring harness, magnetic sensor and assorted bolts and brackets to make the

original tach work.

I have a complete kit that I am keeping as spares for my old truck that has all the parts needed if

this will help you in figuring what you need.

then is should already be wired to plug the tach, look under the dash and taped to your steering column there should be a flat plug that the tach will plug into, iff not look for the plug with the same colour wires as what is on the tach.

Ya,

Sell me the tach you have and buy an aftermarket one that works off the alternator... .

you could also try and come up with a crank angle kit but I dont know where.....

Good luck
