Confused About GCVWR

Can someone explain why Dodge decided that this needed to be installed at a 90 degree angle, pointed towards the receiver? Evertime I hook up the lights it drives me crazy... especially hooking up our small utility with a 4 pin. By the time the adaptor is in you have just about no room left to hook up the lights. I can't figure this one out!!... . my wifes Suburban has a better setup, and that is sad. The truck is running so good I had to think of something to complain about... . CJ

I know your frustration. Best thing I ever did was order the Night Bright back up lights from Geno's. The kit comes with a bracket that moves the connector to face the rear. Takes about 10 mins. to move. Might try that route.

I saw that set up in the last TDR flyer. I was wanting it anyway... now it is mine. Now if they could build a kit that got the wiper arms out from under the cowl/hood. What a pain to clean the windshield... CJ

I actualy kind of like it, it just looks neater the way it routes the 7 way cable. IMO it makes it alot easier to route the usualy way to long 7 way cables without them dragging the ground. My dads race trailer came with a cable long enough to plug into the cigarette lighter LOL.

My 2001. 5 came with the seven pin as above, 7 to 4 adapter and a 4 pin flat connector wired in , check around the area, may the 4 pin pig tail is there also like my Mexi truck. SNOKING

1st time I used it was at night and I couldn't get a good connection...

Found out later the pins were green and rotted off.
