Factory Trailer Wiring

Does anyone have the flat four way connector mounted to the bracket for the 7 pin connector on the factory hitch? I noticed that a friend of mine had it on his 1500 and I also noticed one today on a 2500 gasser. Was this an option from the factory? It would work a lot better that the 7 to 4 plug which is a tight fit nest to the hitch.

Mine came with it. I felt bad because I checked inside the glove compartment when I took delivery and climbed all over the dealer because there was no 7-to-4 pin adapter in the towing package stuff like on my 96. He scrounged one up for me - when I got home, I found the 4-pin connector was already there with the 7-pin connector. Oops!!

Mine came with it also. It just hangs right behind the 7 pin plug.

Flat four plug

Both my fathers and my trucks came with the flat four plug also. But I've seen others that didn't of the same year so I'm guesing that it's something that came out mid year or just as a later option.
