Clunking Sound from Left Front

When I bought my 2008 it had a little over 5,000 miles on it, it now has about 18k. I believe the factory warranty was 3 years or 36k, whichever comes first... Does the remainder factory warranty transfer to a second owner? My power steering is making a strange hissing noise, but the fluid is full and there are no leaks. If it's under warranty I want to get it fixed before the three years is up. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The hissing sound may be normal.

Have you read the owner's manual? I would assume that normally the warranty is still valid. You might have to pay a fee to transfer it to yourself. Did you buy it from a dealer? Ask the dealer would probably be the recommended solution.

I don't think the hissing is normal, it only started last week (and it never did it before). It seems to be getting worse too.

There is a post on here somewhere where an issue with the power steering hose causes a loud hissing. There is some problem with the teflon liner coming out of the hose and entering the hydroboost unit.

Now that you mention it, I remember a post about that... I've done a bunch of searches but can't seem to locate it.

Thanks Bob, especially since you were instrumental in diagnosing the other thread on the same power steering/hydroboost hiss issue... I might just replace the hose myself (easier than scheduling a day at the dealer).

I just replaced the PS hose, and so far so good... I was expecting to see the liner sticking out, but it wasn't. The important thing is, the noise went away.
