I went through a automatic car wash the other day and had some paint removed on the lower break of the right side of my truck. I've been through care washes many times before and never had a problem, but one of the body shops I stopped at for a quote said there had been a lot of problems with paint sticking on several years/models of dodge trucks and mine was probably on of them (1996). Has anyone else experenced any problems with paint peeling off?

I'm thinking of having line-x do the lower break and just not have to worry about it any more.

Most paints these days to be enviromently friendly dont stick very well. If its just the bottom you could get that repainted from the molding down just make sure they strip the old paint and start over or it'll just peel again, but I like your idea with the Line-X I've been thinking about that but Line-X seems to fade real fast, so I was working on getting ahold of Permaliner, no experience with them but saw a post that said it didn't fade like the Line-X so I thought I'd talk to them. If you get it Line-X'd take some pic's and let me know.

I was at a car wash a couple of years ago and a piece of paint about the size of a "LIFE" magazine peeled off the top of the cab! Gosh was I P. O. ed. But that is the only place paint peeled off of. I had some bodywork done, on a door this spring, and the guy at the bodyshop pointed out that it appeared like the top of the cab had NOT been clear-coated. My truck is 2-tone, Driftwood over Emerald green, and the Driftwood was what had peeled. He charged me another $50 to sand the top, paint it, and clear-coat it. Everything is fine now. Apparently it was just the top of the cab.

No... thank the wacko-environmentalists who put the idiots in power who gave us the EPA. The wacko-environmentalists will not be happy until the ENTIRE USA is reduced to the status of a 3rd-world nation, complete with everybody riding donkeys and most people dying of 3rd world diseases at age 40... then they will say we are doing things "naturally". They will say we are "In tune with Nature at last... "



Personally I feel we should go back to the days when ONLY property-owning MEN could vote. That would solve a lot of problems. That's my rant for today!
