Failed leaf springs on 99 2500

Truck is approaching the end of its 36000 warranty, so I had it in to the dealer to get some nagging things looked at. One was the fact that the drivers side sits about 3/4 of an inch lower in the back than the right side. This is measured from the frame. Bed was empty and only 1/4 tank of fuel.



Dealer determined that the leaf spring sets needed to be replaced. Mine is a 2500 with the camper package and the biggest camper its ever held has a dry weight of 1050, so I can't figure how they would fail so soon. Anyone else have this problem?



Also, how can I be sure they dealer replaces the springs with the correct ones for the camper special?

I hate to say this but it sounds like your dealer might have missed the problem. Are any springs broken? They usually don't sag that much, that soon with that big a difference between them. There could be something binding up a shackle or a bad shock making it lean.



We used to send the vehicles over to the spring shop and get them fixed right under warrantee.
