A neighbor of mine had this happen... ever hear of this?
"The service dept here just raised holy hell about the aftermarket plate. I cussed and cried and threatened to sue them but they wouldn't back off, so I had to take them seriously when they insisted that the plate caused the pump to fail by causing an "overfueling" situation. They wrote it up in a way that makes sense, because I said I was going to take it to my attorney.
Anyway, I ended up with a plastic baggy full of parts, copper o-ringd, copper washers, and the PLATE! The rebuilder said the Bosch pump had blown seals, too! If I thought the damned thing did'nt cause the problem, I would put it right back in. I may someday.
The pump is set to supply at something like 170 cc and with the plate it was delivering 252 cc. All greek to me, but I still had to write the check.
Maybe it's a question to ask someone at the TDR? What do you think?
Any responses or email direct if you don't want to post.
