Forgive me for being an intermediary in this whole situation but my buddy in CO is having problems with his 04.
He called me earlier this eve complaining about failure to run issues that manifested when he filled up the fuel tank. After fill up, it would stall unless he put it in neutral and revved it briskly. It would fire up and run normal on consecutive trips. Thinking he picked up a bad batch of poorly winterized fuel, he added some anti-gel and again the problem came back but again, only on the trip home.
I suggested he swap out the fuel filter as he couldn't remember when that was replaced and to look at possible cap issues.
Called me up 2 hrs later and things went from bad to worse - he had the filter swapped out and he didn't make it 1. 5 blocks before it cut out completely - won't start at all. And of course it was the last job for the shop on a fri afternoon so they were gone by the time the tow truck showed. Now that I'm poking around here for him, it seems like it could be the fuel pressure releif valve, injector(s) or possibly the fca.
Anyone recommend a good diesel shop around Longmont CO?
