Well what can I say,each year we do this and it just keeps getting better and better. There 2 reasons for that in my eyes,one would be the continued outstanding facilities/support the ENTIRE Kauffman Motorsports crew provides us and the other is the owners who come out and make the show happen,For that I say THANK YOU!!!.



I got home this afternoon after the show and a chat with a few TDR members about the goings on and sat in the recliner and that was it,lights out. Having just been woke up to tuck my daughter in for bedtime I guess I better put the final numbers up for everyone to see and then I'll ramble afterwards with a couple of thoughts. Tom was with us last year for the first time ever with a Diesel Chevy Suburban and enjoyed his time here. He brought this year to the show and very new and quite the looker new Ford 6. 0 which brought him a stock class win.

Sue,Paul and their in house tuner,son Cody,have been searching for a couple of years for the combination to slip them into the 600 club. This year the pieces fell into place with their dually and the hard work rewarded them with a win.

Jody and Fred have been working very hard for the last few years to try and sort this animal out. They new they had the parts to do it but it seemed like the HP gods at times were always at war with them and provided them with more than their fair share of heartaches. This year was different and they FINALLY got to see their hard work pay off and take home something to show for it. When the 655 showed on the computers display and I told both of them,I believe they were in shock and never expected it or believed me. Hopefully this will make up for some of the past and the monkeys of their back finally.

Wow, what else can a guy say here. This one single run was enough to stop everyone there to see what he had just done. Those of us who know Doug know he has had prior rides which were known for HP and kinda expected it from this one. Yet when it happened,the run amazed all in attendence. Being one who has seen some of his prior mind boggling shows of power,this one even amazed me. To be able to make that amount of power on one charger makes this truck one nasty bottle rocket. We all know Doug has a tradition with this show of doing his annual headgasket scramble and to see him make it all week during testing,then the show and still have Karen allow him to ride home in it means he finally has the tune-up. Our Club may just have to change the name of this class as he seems to have run off the competition and just save him the fuel and giggle gas,LOL.



Well gang another year has passed with this show and I hope all who came enjoyed themselves. I'll slip out of this post and drop a few babbles in the next for all who missed out on it. Thanks Again... ..... Andy

Fixed and sorry bout that. I was temporarily blinded by way to many numbers and screwed up. Its correct now.



Jeff,

I was sorry to hear about the truck and your problem. I don't know what happened but I was relieved to hear no one was injured,trucks can be replaced or repaired,we can't. I am glad you got home safely also. BTW,your bumper problem sounds like a good reason for a shiney new Buckstop to put on there instead of the factory one. Leave the gasser pig parts alone,show him what a real bumper is made of. If there is anything we can do to help drop a note.

I will not dispute what numbers you say you ran with your truck back in Feb as I wasn't present. What I will say is this,in all the calls made/recieved after the show yesterday,with people in the know,only one persons name came up as a possible for that much on fuel alone at a show with a VP44,that was HVAC. If I made a mistake and overlooked your numbers,then I will stand corrected and say thank you.



Now for your questions on the torque numbers and the problems you have with them. I have seen and done many of these shows and seen them rise and fall myself. Many contributing factors can be determined for that as I look over the runs after the shows. Changes in conditions,engine spoolup,wheel spin on the rollers, software gliches and tire heat to name a few. No one single determining factor can be isolated for this and with the human element involved there is no way you can be perfect each time. So I take it like it is and pay more attention to where the torque number is made for my own reference.



Kauffman's Dynojet had their software updated and jet calibrated not long before we came in this year. This is a procedure they do each fall right before our show to ensure all of their customers recieve accurate testing numbers for what they need to do with them. The newest update of software stops the torque reading at 1200 ft lbs and the needed update to that part of the program didn't arrive in time for our show. I knew of this prior to the show but didn't concern myself of it as I knew of possibly only 6 trucks from the East coast which would hit it,if they showed.

As they aready said,yes it was equipped with a VP44. It had one fail during testing this week which was swapped the day before the show.

With the current happenings in our nation and fuel prices through the roof I was not sure what to expect this weekend. The small group of close friends who I blabber with weekly will attest about how nervous I was going into this weekend. That feeling was more prevelant Friday night when I got no sleep at all due to being all amped up about this years show and it going well. Tonight after reflecting some on the weekends activities all I can say is Thank you for a whale of a show. I may set the shows up,but,it takes a great group of people to make them as enjoyable as they are for everyone. I am not one to just let anyone run things either,so I tend to see my show on CD's of pictures but,I did let Dockboy run the bay for a bit Saturday so I could wander a bit. Greg knows how hard headed I am and even when he came in to take over he knew I didn't want to leave. Thanks Greg,I did actually enjoy that walk.



Without Karen and Doug's help I would have never gotten this one done due to so much on my plate. Thanks to them my job was alot easier and the show went off without a problem. So I offer my thanks to both of them for all the help they provided.



Kauffman Motorsports... ...

What can you say more about them. Each time we go there they provide us with more dedication to excellence than one could imagine. Not many places would turn over their entire facilities for use like they do. Even when faced this year with the possibility of the jet going down,with limited chances of repair,they buckled down and figured out how to ensure the show would be completed. I know from being around them,if it would have been any other group they would have finished then and there. Yet the entire crew found the problem,rectified it,relaxed over lunch to settle down and back at it we went.



They make the shows rock and roll with efficency and really make my job easy for the owners who wish to dyno. So to the ENTIRE Crew at Kauffman's I have to offer a HUGE THANK YOU for a job well done.

I have forgotten to thank our resident Chefs,Chef Jim and Chef Pres. Wheeling the clubs newest addition certainly made cooking lunch go as smooth as silk and made for plenty of great food to eat(I am still trying to find more of Jengles pork chops in my dreams). They did a heck of a job making sure the masses got fed so thanks is in order to them.

Now how did you manage to wiggle your way into the Dockboys white bottle rocket and go for a ride before I recieved mine?. To think I was even a nice guy and took Greg for a long extended ride all the way back to his house so he could enjoy the smooth ride and the superior handling characteristics of a Dodge in a torrential rain storm. There are not too many who have enjoyed a ride like that with me(meaning that I had the truck between the proper lines of MY side of the highway) nor have many gotten a ride in my shiney red truck. BTW,do not ever ask Sled Puller about how well I drive in the rain because what he would tell you is all not true(well OK,maybe just a little of it is. . No,Actually I guess it all was). BTW,I do have a spy shot of the Ottomobile destroying yet ANOTHER set of rear tires on my camera and when you look at it one can see the complete lack of a broom to clean up the rubber pile afterwards like he was told back in Exton that day.
