false outside temp readings

while traveling with my plow attached, i get false outside temp readings. i assume the airflow is blocked by the plow. question- is this normal? also does the same thing happen to guys who run the cold climate grill cover? All other engine parameters seem unaffected, but it seems that the temp sender should be relocated to reflect actual outside temp. genos - make a relocate kit and harness extender!!!!

In my 09, the temp seems to be slow to respond to changes. Is there anything to clean that would help this?

Iirc there is a flash to speed up the refresh rate when started

After an oil change it took almost a full day to start responding to change. No big deal in summer, not neat in winter.

The reason for the false reading is the engine heat is being pulled out of the grill, backwards if you will.
Turn on the Snow Plow option. That should help.

I remembered seeing this brought up in the owners manual so I checked. In the (Understanding your instrument panel section) (Compass Temp display) it references false readings while using a snow plow.
