Family realized on the TDR

OK, I've been thinking for a while about posting this, but here goes. I was out of town a month and half ago on family business. I was in Dad's very small home town and spotted a CTD which I only got a glimpse of but thought I saw a TDR sticker in the back window. I posted under that state when I got back. Never did identify who it was. I got a PM a few days later from another member who stated that his wife was from this same small town. He said maybe your dad knows the ***'s. Funny thing was it was MY last name. It turns out his wife's Grandfather is my Grandfathers brother. I didn't know anybody from that side of the family, but now I do I think that makes us 2nd cousins, but regardless it's been really neat to me to find this out. Not to mention I'm not the only freak in the family who drives a CTD and belongs to the TDR. I'll let this member decide if he wishes to be revealed.

It's me, Just found the post, almost missed it. This place really is great, it's funny how things work. It really is a small world, my mother in law was just dumb founded about the whole thing. Of course we just got her hooked up to the internet two months ago so the idea of meeting a relative on the other side of the country through the internet is just amazing to her. It really is amazing though because I've gotten other pm's from people that ask me if I know certain people, one guy was coming up to a graduation in the town I grew up in and his relative graduated from the same high school I did a number of years ago. In fact on the phone one day I was talking to a guy at Edge Products and he asked where I lived and I told him, then he asked which street, he knew right where it was because he used to live here. I've learned great things from here and I hope that I am able to help others, but finding a relative, that was pretty wild. Of course we're all TDR cousins anyhow

I just had my '74 Super Beetle restored and had 'em paint it Dodge Patriot Blue. (I bought my truck used and didn't get to pick that color) So, can I join both camps?
