I have the Snap-On fan wrench, I've had my nephew on the barring tool and my neighbor on the balancer bolts, now the fan pulley spins under the belt, how in the H$%L do you keep this thing from spinning to break the fan loose. I hate these reverse thread blades, oh yeah I'm going to the driver side to break it loose, actually I tried both ways, but my 92 came loose going towards the drivers side, I hope I've been trying the right way. . #@$%!

Take out 1-2 of the pulley bolts so that you can get an open end wrench on the clutch. Use some 18" water pump pliers to grab the pulley bolts you didn't remove and yer done! Piece of cake!

i thought the 3rd gens were right hand threads?

Threads on the viscous fan drive are RIGHT-HAND. A 36 MM Fan Wrench can be used. Place a bar or screwdriver between the fan pulley bolts to prevent pulley from rotating.

Mine was right handed. Also, a 1-7/16" works in combination with the 18" channel locks ... ... ... . no need for a 36mm.

What, another fan clutch victim?? 03's are right hand ( normal) threads, get real good at this after the first few! Right George!:-laf

I've only lost one in 300,000. However, there seems to me there was a guy on here that has been through 1/2 dozen or so in less miles.
