I heard there is a way to drill something on the fan clutch that will make it locked full time. Would be far cheaper than a Horton fan clutch. Does anyone know how to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Matt

if you don't mind destroying the clutch drill a hole straight though front side to back and put a bolt and nut though it

It would be far cheaper than a horton fan clutch yes... but then again... its not exactly doing the same thing as a horton fan clutch. Keyword, "clutch".

Do you want direct drive all the time? I bet Cummins has a direct drive hub available. At least I know you can get one for a 8. 3.

I know if I had to listen to the roar of a fully engaged fan all the time it would get old really quick, not to mention the 1-2 MPG drop. If it's not working right just get a new clutch.

I had a clutch fail and it stayed locked all the time. The noise was over whelming, and maybe it was my imagination, but the truck felt sluggish as well.
