2005 Dodge 4x4. OK I rear ended a little Ford 150 and besides screwing his truck up I screwed mine up too.

Body shop put everything back together and about a week later I was moving my truck in the driveway and I noticed a vibration. Opened the hood and lo and behold , my fan clutch is whinging the wiring around and of course it took out the brand new radiator. 1 and a half blades were missing on the fan also, so I'm guessing somehow it must have come apart and took out the wiring causing it to nail the radiator. The body shop had replaced the fan clutch but not the fan blades, so they had the insurance company pay for another radiator, fan clutch and fan blade, plus towing back to the shop. Well they located

another radiator, fan clutch with wiring and fan blades (all Dodge)and put them in today. They were very concerned with the clearance between the fan and the fan clutch wiring, less than 1/2" when it properly in the bracket. They even took pics to show me when I picked up the truck.

Drove the truck home and bummer, another puddle of antifreeze, and the wiring to the fan clutch is gone from the plug to 3" from the fan clutch its self. Looks like it got the radiator again also. Body shop sending another wrecker to puck up the truck in the am and are hooking me up with a new loaner truck while their try to figure out what the problem. I couldn't ask for more cooperation from the shop. hasnt cost me a dime for any of the reapirs, they are covering everything.

Everything looks straight on the truck. This isn't a flyby night shop, they have been in business for ever.

Any ideas?

the truck can be viewed at Coastal Body Works - Quality Collision Repair in Pensacola, Escambia and Santa Rosa Florida

I'm not familiar with the physical details of the 2005 fan arrangement (it's different than my 2003), but it sounds a bit like the shop might be missing one small part - some kind of wiring retainer clip or something that holds it out of the way.

Can't they wire tie it or something?

Best thing would be for the dealer to replace the parts at this point. Sometimes it is hard to see the problem if it is right in your face. . No doubt that the dealer will know or have dealt with the issue before.

Or find a "friend" with the same truck for them to compare it to.

Best of luck.

Keep the zip ties and wire out unless it was OEM.

Bill, I'm not a great writer so bear with me. I just would like to confirm one thing. You did mention that there is a bracket, but is there a tube? The wiring for my truck runs through a bottom bracket into a metal tube out to the fan clutch. I would have to say to tube is at least 6 inches long maybe longer. Could this be the part missing?
