What is an easy way to tell if your fan clutch is bad? I was recently driving through the hills of WV and KY and the truck got a little warmer then I would like (second hash mark). Everything looks good, but when I tried to spin the fan it would barely move.

TIA

sounds like it is working fine then, the only other thing that could be wrong with it is the little coil on the front of it may be compromised

I had a radiator that had 7 or 8 tubes clogged right in the middle so the spring that is supposed to get hot and expand to engage the fan never got hot air blowing on it. I went through three new fan clutches before I figured that one out. Warm up your truck, then shut it down and feel the radiator for cold spots. It's a strange problem I admit, but it doesn't hurt to check before possibly spending money on the wrong thing.

I think I may have found the problem. I didn't find any cold spots on the radiator, but I did find a good amount of bent fins on the intercooler. Picked a fin comb up off of ebay. I'll have that all fixed up for the next trip in May. Running around town she never gets that warm.

Thanks for the help!
