Fan Clutch

I have an '04. 5 and my fan clutch appears to be on it's way out. Has anyone tried installing a mechanical viscous fan clutch like my old '94 old had. Would it even fit? I just don't like the idea that I need electricity to make the fan run in it's present state. #@$%!

I don't think what you are contemplating is possible.

The OEM fan as I understand it gives a feed back to the engine's ECM

and if it's out of the system will turn on the check engine light.
