Hi, the fan motor on my dad's 03 is dying. He said if he hits it it will start up again. How hard is this to replace and where is a good place to get one? Thanks
If you mean the heater fan, on my 99 I got it from Advance auto parts and it was only a matter of 4 screws in the bottom of the air duct.
I don't imagine they have changed much. Mine would work when I kicked it also
It's real easy to change. Passenger side below glove box. Unplug the harness and remove attaching screw. It drops straight down. Remove squirrel cage ( round fan ) and reinstall on new motor and re install. We pulled one out of one of our service trucks at work because it had "quit" only to find something had fallen down and was preventing the fan from turning.
Thanks for quick replies. Gonna pull it out tmrw morning to see if any debris is in it before he gets the motor. It was probably about ten years ago we were driving up 81 in 100 degree heat and the AC quit working and he hit the motor and it fired back up. No issues with it until now. Will post results.
Ok about $100 out the door at NAPA. Very easy to swap out. It was a Denso unit took out. He saved it to see if it can be rebuilt at local shop. I generally like OEM parts, but needed to get this now.
