Tune In Tonight!!

Lonesome Dove is at the top of my list:cool:

Sooo much going on in that movie, the different personalities. The different characters, locations, one hell of a movie.

The wife bought me a copy of Open Range:D

I waited until the family was out of the house to watch it alone:cool:

I was gettin really worried as I read this post. That is until I saw Lonesome Dove listed. My pick for best movie, period. It was an outstanding book as well.

You know trying to pick a favorite is impossible - I'm only so happy that they decided to make another great Western movie instead of all the other types they have been making. I thought I was becoming a dinosaur.....

Open Range

Open range was an "OK" movie. I did go buy it as I expected it to really be a keeper. It was a border line movie for me to buy it though. I was glad to see a western movie but nothing compares to a John Wayne, Clint Eastwwod western. I just wish they would come out with more westerns... ... ... Why is it they don't? Don

Lonesome Dove is a no brainer. I've watched it several times and never ever get tired of it. Robert Duvall at his very best!!! Another recent great western with Tommy Lee Jones was The Missing. Great acting, incredible scenery. A bit too much violence though.

Tried to rent it today and they were all out in all the local video stores. Will have to try during the week. Want to see it as it was filmed in southern Alberta.

Stoney Indian Reservation

Some of the finest scenery you'll ever see... ... ..... and it really deserves to be seen on the BIG Screen.....

Lonesome dove was great - BUT - in my opinion - it wasn't a movie - it was a mini series. Meaning it was really easy to put a whole lot of great stuff in - because you had a loooooong time to do it.

Not a mini series Hammersley, just a looooong movie. Go see The Missing. Must see on the big screen. Might be out of theaters by now. Won't be near as good on TV. Another good good movie was The Cowboys with John Wayne. One of the only John Wayne movies where he gets killed. Real sad.

I had to bring this back up to the top! I watched Open Range for the first time Saturday night and thought it was so good I watched it again tonight:D Best western I've seen in a long time.

I watched Open Range last weekend. It's a good western but not on the top of my list. I went back and watched the gun fight again the next day, anybody count the number of shots Charlie was getting from his revolver? With the commentary enabled Costner even admitted it was more than six.

And what's up with Boss Spearman's real first name? Blue Bonnet? Maybe be some kind of inside joke?

IMHO: I think Dances with Wolves is a better Kevin Costner movie.
