I write this letter with a tear in my eye. I almost feel like I am breaking the faith. Almost. Because I've gone and bought a 98 12 valve 1 ton 4X4, 5 speed. But it's still a Dodge with a Cummins. i sat and looked at both trucks sitting side by side and the first gen looks more like a real truck to me. But i gotta admit, the 98 is a darn nice ride as long as I can get over looking out over that slopey hood.

I'm not leaving, just going to a different forum and I will check here because this is where my familly is.

See you guys at the gettogethers.

Dave

Did I mention the 98 only has 58,800 miles on it?

Enjoy that 5 speed. . And hey , Thanks big time for all the trans advice you have given over the last couple years. . REALLY helped me out.

Chuck

Dave, Dave, Dave. tsk tsk

What have you gone and done? :( (The pastor will surely have to use his big stick on this one!)

I figured you would keep the old truck forever. Do you still have it or did you sell it already? Is this a quest for more power or just a better ride?

Either way, I look forward to seeing you at future get togethers. Take care my friend, I'll come by one of these days and say hello.

"Gonna" miss you over here Dave - look forward to seeing you and the new truck in the future. Thanks for all your help over the years.

BTW is the KDP dead on the '98.

Bob

I had to get one of those new one's to tow my first gen around :D . Sure do ride better not to mention a few more comfort options. Good luck with the new truck.

Congrats and enjoy the "new" ride. How does that saying go? "... you can check out but you may never leave... "

Good Luck and stay safe.

John

Well Dave,

That makes two of us here in the NW that are letting the old 1st gen go. I still have mine sitting out front after getting the new truck back in April but that has to change soon. I have to go out and start it frequently just so I can remember what a diesel truck is supposed to sound like. I wish I could get the sound of the 1st gen in the ride of the 3rd gen. Oo. Oo.

Carl

Guys, cut him some slack, at least he didnt go to the DARK dark side and get a computer controlled overvalved behemoth (sp?). I had noticed you hadnt been posting much here lately, though. Ashamed to show your cursor, I guess ;).

Have fun. I may bug you with auto questions now and then.
