Well,
Its easy to say that we all had a great time and the weather was outstanding. Of course when you have such great hosts how do you not have a good time. I will work on the getting what pictures I took ready and resized tommorrow and post them here for everyone. Thanks should go to the hard workers who got Tex's cab lights on and working and did it without any major damage(especially since we all knew Tex took off when they started drilling the holes through the roof,LOL). The Chef did a outstanding job and that pork loin Jengle brought was off the chart. Travis's Elk meat chili was great also even though his lovely wife made him tone it down a tad,LOL. Nice to see our club Pres slip in trying his best to remake the movie "Easy Rider".
A couple of worthy notes from the shindig. .
-It seems one of us,who even after reading the directions AND owning a computer that was GPS capable, made a wrong turn and exited off in another state which had him a tad late,LOL. So I guess we all will have to send a note to the NE group who all man their laptops in the trucks all the time and have them teach Jengle some GPS basics. Ok,so he was a tad confused, I mean Maryland and Pennsylvania are real close in spelling. Actually John,I'll give you a small pass on that mistake for two reasons-1. . I do happen to know a guy who once led a group on a tour of a small industrial park in Maryland while tryiong to get to a show and 2. . The pork was too good to not let you have a pass this time.
-Kudos to the group of mechanics who did the install of the lights on Tex's truck before he left. While they slaved away and got him all lit up Tex was wandering around like a nervous father mumbling to himself about not being able to watch. HOWEVER,when he was asked for the silicon to help seal the screw hole he said he forgot it and had to be driven in a FORD to go get some. I do have a shot of how much he enjoyed that ride and will make sure it is put here tommorrow. Personally,I think deep down he really wanted to go for a ride in a Ford and when you see the picture it almost looks like he enjoyed it so much he will be a owner of one soon.
-The comment of the day had to be from our Pres John who when asked what a die hard Harley lover was doing riding a puesdo Harley(It was a Honda). he said and I quote... "I got tired of it breaking down on me and having to haul it back in my truck". So after he we all hashed about the possibility of his pusher pumps lifespan on his truck, this reporter has come to the conclusion he didn't bring the truck because there was no way since he had Ben on the second seat of the bike he could haul the truck home with it if it broke.
-Oh yeah let me not forget this one. IF you ever wonder how many yard sales you can place along a 65 mile stretch of US highway just ask me and Sherry. So if I get another bright idea like that Sherry just hit me with something hard so I remember what the pain of that traffic was like. I would have never thought if you would run 36 extra miles out of the way to stay on the interstate it would be over a hour faster than the shortest route. I think my leading the parade days are done and will pass my hat off to someone else.
At any Rate...
Chris,I hope your trip back home brings you all the rewards in life you seek. You now have the job you always wanted and have it where you wanted it,close to home. I told you with patience you would get what you wanted and where you wanted it. You will be missed around here and are always welcome with us. Happy Trails and best of luck to both Kristy and you... ... ... . Andy
P. S. -Drop our old buddy Wiredawg a note when you get settled as he also moved back into that area when he went home. Ron and Vivian are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.
