1. How much does one of these bad boys cost?

2. Is it worth the money at my power level?

3. How hard to install?

4. Where to get one?

5. What will it do for performance?

Sorry so many questions just want to spend wisely!

I think it will benefit you, if you get one. There are a few things to consider, if you have the money:

1) will help your cp3 fuel pump live a longer happier life

2) will help your MPG because of cleaner, non-oxygenated fuel

3) decrease your soot/smoke

4) they also offer a FASS 200 gph(if you plan on getting crazy)

5) the stock fuel pumps are notorious for failing, and when I get mine, I will ditch the factory one, and just run the fuel feed line straight to the cp3, and bypass the factory fuel filter housing.

6) might want to use a rubber mudflap on the bracket to quiet it down because it might whine, and get annoying, which is a downside

hope this helps, just my opinions

Along those same lines of questioning, do they happen to have a kit to retrofit a truck with an in-tank pump to one of these which doesn't involve cutting a hole in the tank? I'm just about ready for a fuel pump upgrade myself. BTW this thing won't mess with the computer will it?

Mine threw a code because you take out a relay to wire up the system if you go by the book... theres a way around it... I just haven't done it yet.

decreases smoke? really... i have the smokiest standard Juice i have ever seen then...

well, on most diesels(Duracrap, Powerjoke, or Cummins), the full FASS (filter and water seperator) takes most of the air out of the fuel, and filters the fuel (down to 10 microns if needed), thus resulting in better atomization of fuel in the injection process, which decreases smoke.

thats my thought process, tell me if I am off

Funny no one mentioned how much this unit will set me back. Any one running the Walbro unit or know someone who is. My main goal is just to not starve the rail on high horse settings. I will not be building 6-700 horse like some of these lucky guys. I would be happy with a respectable 400 at the BFG's :)

Umm, how could we tell you how much?? We don't know where you'll be buying... and depending on where you buy from... $500 TO $700...

A lot of us chose the FASS because it was a kit, not a bunch of parts thrown together... easy install.

I have the Walbro kit from www.glacierdieselpower.com on my truck and love it. Its cheaper and not nearly as noisey as the FASS, and will supply just as much, if not more fuel than the FASS. I`m not dogging the FASS system by any means (before the flame war starts), just saying the Walbro kit was a better fit for me.

The Glacier kits are VERY easy to install, and include everything you`ll need to get it done. They also have some of the best instructions I`ve ever seen in a fuel pump kit. Contact Richard from GDP, he`ll take care of ya.

I have the 200 gph on my truck, replaced the 150.

First, no codes on my truck. I did have a customer with an 05 that would throw codes and we never figured it out except that another shop had installed it and it was the wrong part number for the year.

Newer trucks with the intank pump required drilling a 15/16 hole in the tank. Its really not that bad as long as you let the tank run down past the light a little.

My 200 makes a little more noise than my buddies 95. I like it because I know the thing is working. I don't hear it above idle and i don't hear it with the windows up.

As for pricing, you've got mail.

Here is a list of MSRP pricing on our web page.

2. Is it worth the money at my power level?

Yes. The peace of mind is worth it. Like someone told me "Makes my fuel pressure gauge refreshingly boring!"

3. How hard to install?

Really depends on what you consider hard. All in all its very basic. Here is a link to the install instructions.....

4. Where to get one?

FASS Dealer's all over the US. I would check with the sponsors first on TDR. Here is a link to a dealer locater map.

5. What will it do for performance?

We don’t really say that it will give you more HP. It will give you lost HP due to aeration. How much? Varies from truck to truck. Reliable fuel pressure and fuel filtration are the main reasons i personally bought mine way before i started working here... ... . 1 week after my VP-44 install... . you do the math on that one! BUT my truck did feel more snappy after the FASS was installed. Did idle smoother as well……so much so my wife noticed……. .

thanks man

i don't know what the prices are they are referencing... i shopped online and found the best deal at www.tstproducts.com for $455.

Airdog is another company to consider... its a favorite on DodgeTruckWorld.com

Different opinion here, if your not running a fueling box at very high settings then you wont notice any difference at all. I never ran out of fuel even when running my TST on 6/6 with the stock pump. Plus, these things are noisy and not in a good way. Pulling into a nice campground while everyone is watching and having this loud hum emminating from an otherwise beautiful truck is a bit embarrasing.

I plan on buying an in tank conversion kit from Dodge and selling the FASS 95 I have now.

My truck is all but stock and I even saw a difference changing to the FASS... no performance box... only the mods in my sig...

As far as the noise... to each his own, I could care less what someone else thinks of my truck... at least I'll still be driving down the road after their quiet OEM pump fails!! :-laf And to add to this point... do you really think 95% of the people in the campgound actually know your truck ISN'T supposed to make that noise?? Of the dummies around here, most would notice how dirty it is before the whine of my FASS!

Diesel Dan-

a lot of the guys over there use airdog and prefer it... .

am i missing something? yes it was mentioned. i have a FASS 150 and like it. aren't you a FASS dealer or work for FASS? cause i believe you are a DTR FASS advertiser... and i know you and I are drew womack fans. my name on DTR and DTW is 973604x4.

I run the AirDog and love it. Absolutely no problems in the entire time I have had it. My installer sells both AirDog and FASS and says there is no comparison. The AirDog costs more, but worth every penny. Also, it can be run through the stock filter housing for those wanting to keep the stock heater, and warning lights in use.
