My truck is all but stock and I even saw a difference changing to the FASS... no performance box... only the mods in my sig...

As far as the noise... to each his own, I could care less what someone else thinks of my truck... at least I'll still be driving down the road after their quiet OEM pump fails!! :-laf And to add to this point... do you really think 95% of the people in the campgound actually know your truck ISN'T supposed to make that noise?? Of the dummies around here, most would notice how dirty it is before the whine of my FASS!

You seem to be antagonized by what I wrote and thats a shame.

To answer your question, yes, people who know nothing about the mechanical workings of a vehicle know that loud hum is not normal, just as they know a loud knock or fluids draining on the ground isn't rite. Also, I'm never overly concerned with impressing folks but I do keep my truck sharp and would prefer it represents Dodge CTD at it's best, call it pride in ownership. As a final note I plan to install the in-tank pump which so far has a good track record so I'm not too afraid of your passing me on the side of the road. Interesting though, if I saw a CTD on the side of the road (w/TDR sticker) I wouldn't just drive by, I'd stop.

No, not antagonised a bit...

I just don't get why people are concerned about some noise... that is like saying you don't like mud tires because they hum... same principle, you bought it for a purpose and got to take the negatives with it.

I guess to put it simple... you either take the noise with the reliability of the aftermarket stuff or you take no noise with a potentially less reliable OEM unit.

You might want to do some more reasearch on the OEM stuff... I have seen both good and some bad about... there should be enough long term testing of the intank, but the retrofits still seem flakey...
