You have a point

A quality pump uses a bypass relief valve and needs a return from it back to the tank. The Carter is definetly not a high quality heavy duty unit but in the right application it should work better than it does. The Gassers put the pump in the tank and don't worry about supply side restriction at all.
 
Air Dog Maybe Hasn't Been Out That Long, But Ekstam Has, And I Believe They Put The Same Quality Into The Air Dog As They Their Larger Pumps. Also I Never About The Powerstroke And Duramax Guys Having Problems With Electric Fuel Pumps. John
