I'm looking into installing the FASS. Just have a few questions.

1) What is the cost of the product?

2) What is the avaliblity of the the filter?

3) Approximate time for install?

4) What kind of parts are required to complete the install that doesnt come with the FASS?

1. If you look around the cost is less than 575. 00

2. No problem getting filters you get a sheet that says the type.

3. 3 or 4 hours

4. just basic tool kit, and a sharp knife. The kit was total complete exept fuel pressure gauge. I plumbed mine into the back of my stock filter so my fuel pressure gauge was still there. I DON'T have a filter in there now. I've seen that Genos has a new cap for filter and you can tap into the top of it.

couple more questions

1) Would there be any benifit to laeving a filter inthe factory location and double filtering your fuel?

2) I'm wanting to install both pre and post filter pressure gauge, is that fairly simple?

1. Don't need more restriction.

2. You don't really the pre filter it really only count's what the VP44 is getting. My fuel pressure gauge and piping between the stock filter and the VP44 is AN -6. I've heard that some people cut the line before it goes into the VP44 and put a brass tee and tap a gauge in that way. Mine was just there from the set up before.

If you decide to dump the stock fuel filter, I would keep it and not get rid of it just incase its needed in the future.

you never know and who wanats to buy one again if you may need it.

Bob,

So, do you have the HP versoin or the regular non-HP?

My instructions recommend bypassing the stock fuel filter and fuel line as they restrict the AirDog HP performance.

That's true if it's STOCK but I have replaced ALL the stock fuel lines with -6 AN lines and that's what the kit comes with. I also have no filter in the filter housing.

Ahhh AN-6 lines

My kit came with a bunch of rubber hose. I didn't like the idea of running that much hose in a high pressure line. Does anyone offer a prefab AN-6 replacement for the fuels lines?

Not really we made the kit a few years ago

wscott--The info your getting from Mad Bomber is on a 2nd gen truck and does not apply to your truck. You do not have a VP44 pump. You have a high pressure common rail fuel system. From your questions I assume you didn't know this. You should by pass your stock fuel filter, but you will use the stock electrical connection. The hose provided with the FASS kit goes from the fuel tank to the FASS pump then to the high pressure pump. The most pressure you will have in the hose is 15 to 20 psi. The hose is good for 300psi.
