I purchaser a fass ddrp from Geno's a few months ago and just received a letter from them advising the button head screws on the base and mounting bracket may not have been torqued properly at the factory and to check them.

Has anybody received this notice and does the pump have to be removed to check the screws?

Thanks

Well, I am on the road touring the Southern Utah National Parks. Stopped for the night in Mexican Hat (don't blink). The day before I had the experience of coming down the Moki Dugway. Highway 261 Utah While taking a backroad near Valley of the Gods my Dodge quit. No fuel pressure. Had put in a new DDRP about two weeks before leaving for the trip. I had left the original Carters (2 of them) in place in case of an emergency. Got them swapped in and cracked a couple injector lines and got it running. This morning I pulled the DDRP and the three screws under the mount were loose. 1 was almost completely out and the other 2 about 2 turns loose.

Needless to say I am less than impressed with FASS. Thew instructions are lousy and it is not capable of priming the system without venting the filter. Geno's was responsive on the instructions and very helpfull. However, I have not been at home for a month and my mail is being held by the USPS, so no notification. My opinion is pull the pump TODAY and follow whatever instructions Geno's sent. $400 for a pump that appears to be good quality but still needs a backup CARTER. Maybe I just needed a spare CARTER in the box. I am DONE with FASS.

If this happened coming down the MOKI, I probably would not be posting today. I would be a dead statistic.
