Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS fuel line life?

My fuel line that came with my FASS pump is starting to have a slight dry rott look and doesn't feel as soft as it did when new. It feel's a little stiffer with tiny crack's! I installed everything about 2 year's ago and it seem's like it should have lasted longer! I do live in the mid-west and I guess the winter cold and summer heat could have an effect, but 2 year's? Any one else have this problem?
