Fass fuel pump warranty issues

This is more a heads for anybody thinking about buying one of these pumps.....I would like to tell how FASS has treated me and how they operate when it comes to warrantying the product they say has a lifetime warranty. I haul campers for a living and go through lots of fuel and I am sure most of you the quality of todays diesel is less than desirable. I went with Fass after a few problems with name brand replacement fuel pumps. (carter) ...The pump was a little loud from day one but I was that is normal. After a year's use and coming back from a trip to Florida it died on me in the middle of no where. Now here is the thing anybody thinking about buying this pump needs to made aware of.....the only way to get it covered under warranty is send it back to them....now I don't know about you but I cant spend a week in a Motel waiting for FASS to do what they should..So any way got back on the road with the help from Orelliys ....I did call FASS when their crap pump quit on me their offer to help me was "hey we can sell you a new pump&motor and next day it out to you" here is the thing guys these people just wanna sell pumps and increase the amount of places selling it....none stock replacement parts
Now here is the latest twist you need to be aware of ....I sent the pump back (on my dime they insist on it) after two weeks got the replacement pump along with it comes a sheet that says 4 year warranty WTF!!!!!! lifetime is now 4 years....they insist I still have a lifetime warranty but refuse to send me anything in the mail to document that.... So if you park your truck and wait for them ....buy one of their pumps I sure am sorry I did
So who else has had problems with these guys

Unfortunately I had the same issues with Air Dog some years ago. Pump was eating motor bearings, what I ended up doing was pulling mine apart got the numbers off the bearings and sourced them thru my local parts guy. I also sourced the seal that separates the fuel from the motor. The problem I ended up running into was the shaft would wear from the seal, I ended up shimming it out enough to get away from the worn area.
If I still had my 2nd gen and had to do it over again I'd build a good stand alone filtration set up and mount a cheap pusher pump on the frame rail. Keep a spare under the seat in the event of a failure.
