FASS fuel pumps

Read a post recently about upgrading my FASS system to something quieter. Followed instructions and sent pump to FASS with my $15 check. Pump came back as packed, with my note and check??? No note from FASS, no phone call, no explanation of what was done or not done, nothing I assume since they returned my check.

When I bought the pump from a San Antonio dealer they sent the wrong filter, about 1. 5 qts, parts that had no apparent use, 3- 3/16" spacers, 2-3/4" spacers instead of 4-3/8" spacers for mounting the pump. The dealer (when he finally got to work around 9:30 AM) told me the pump was a high flow pump mounted on the wrong base - SURE. Try to call the factory - good luck.

I believe FASS makes a good product but service and customer relations suck.

Well all due respect, you didn't quite follow instructions to the tee. If you reread the noise update thread, we only require the $15. 00 if we send out the WP-Kit to the customer. BUT this is only valid for pumps that do not have the wire seal. If you send in the pump, its free and we cover the shipping back to you. As in your case. That is why you got your check back.



My guys did pull your pump down and check it out but honestly it was very quiet on the bench. AND If i recall, it already had the noise update. SO i had them clean the motor, update what they could (Adapter base, Viton seals and such) and they must have sent it back out with before i could get a note explaining what we did. You are right and i try to get notes or write ups of what was done in the box before they leave. That was my fault and for that I'm sorry.



Im not following your second issue... ... ... i never talked to your dealer about that one... ... .

You seem to be the man to ask about the FASS 150, I have a 4 year old Fass 150 I bought from PDR and I have been very happy with it. But now I am running 100% biodiesel and I know I need to replace my fuel line with Viton lines.

1st my pump has never been updated,

2nd Do you all sell a line upgrade kit that is biodiesel compatible?

3rd what other things do I need to do/upgrade to my FASS 150 to ensure that I will not have any biodiesel related problems?

Well we have the motor update that you could take advantage of that would convert you to the new style pump, give you the viton shaft seal and o-rings. We would only need to add the viton 5/8" check balls (2) and the OR-027 pressure manifold o-ring. Then you would be fully converted.



Ill be honest, i have not done my pump yet (BUT im a tad closer to the stuff needed than most! SO if it leaks..... haha... ).



As for line and such, you might contact Eric at Vulcan Performance. He can help you with that and also the motor update if you wish as well.

Also Do I send the core back to them or you? Also I need my truck daily, do I send the Core in when the new pump gets here or do I have to send the core to get the new motor?

Yes... you can order from any FASS dealer... but the requests you made for the bio compatible items (mainly the hoses), you might talk to Vulcan as he carries these things in stock and figured he would be a one stop buy for you. BUT again, you can deal with any FASS dealer for the pump update.



I can send a pump out to you in lieu of a $50. 00 core charge. So down time will not be an issue.

Well you can pull the brushes and inspect them. You should have a pretty good amt of "Beef" on the carbon end of the brush. If its short and stubby... you might consider new brushes. While you have them out, clean the brush caps and sockets in the motor... ... then seal the brush caps with grease or silicon. You can also consider the motor update we got going as well... . do a search for "FASS Motor Update" and it should pull up... .
